This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and support both small and large control projects, emphasizing technical execution and efficient project management.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to successfully complete projects.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to controls engineering.
• Design digital systems that include PLC, DCS, HSI, and networked computer systems.
• Create functional and implementation requirements as well as procurement specifications for control systems in nuclear plants.
• Engage with clients to ensure effective project execution and high levels of client satisfaction.
• Draft and review technical reports, calculations, and studies.
• Manage resources and resource allocation, while developing estimates for task completion and budgets.
• Assist in the development of project proposals.
• Prepare and review diagrams and drawings for new and upgraded control solutions.
• Assess vendor bids from a technical standpoint.
• Collaborate with vendors, conduct document reviews, ensure compliance of equipment, and witness FAT performance on behalf of clients.
• Facilitate project implementation at client facilities.
• Lead automation and process improvement initiatives, overseeing the application of AI or agentic AI tools and verifying results.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing instrumentation and controls systems within a project team environment for commercial and industrial applications, focusing on integrated and detailed system design modifications.
• A Professional Engineering license is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical expertise in available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems for executing system designs.
• Experience acting as the firm's client liaison in a support or lead engineering capacity.
• Proficiency in reviewing design documentation.
• Willingness or ability to lead others using contemporary tools such as automation and AI to enhance workflows, minimize rework, and deliver cost-effective designs.
• Must have authorization to work in the U.S.; the employer does not sponsor work authorization for this position.
• Familiarity with automation using Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel is advantageous but not mandatory.
