This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and promote advanced, intricate programs for nuclear power initiatives that encompass design, operational excellence, safety, maintenance, and project management.

• Lead technical decision-making within project teams focused on the design, modification, and analysis of both new and existing power plant control systems, particularly digital upgrades.

• Explore, diagnose, and resolve instrumentation and controls engineering challenges.

• Coordinate system design efforts to ensure that installations and operations align with specifications, codes, and client expectations.

• Execute the design development of digital systems for PLC, DCS, HSI, networked computing systems, and digital instrumentation and control systems.

• Collaborate on quality assessments and conduct critical digital reviews.

• Provide consulting-level expertise for digital IoT, innovation, and groundbreaking nuclear projects.

• Generate and evaluate scaling, uncertainty, and setpoint calculations for both analog and digital controls applications.

• Create design-input documentation for drawings, master diagrams, and schematics.

• Liaise with vendors regarding material and equipment purchase specifications.

• Produce clear technical reports and studies that meet client specifications.

• Conduct independent reviews of calculations and drawings prepared by others.

• Participate in client meetings and site assessments to confirm scope and ensure client satisfaction.

• Provide support for station outage activities as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from a program accredited by the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission required.

• 12 or more years of experience in designing instrumentation and controls engineering systems within project-team settings for non-commercial heavy industrial facilities.

• Emphasis on integrated, detailed system design for new plants or modifications/replacements of existing facilities.

• Proficient in controls system design related to low- and medium-voltage distribution systems and equipment, including turbines, pumps, feedwater control, and data displays.

• Experience in designing instrumentation and controls systems for power plants utilizing BWR or PWR reactors, including DCS for turbine, control, feedwater management, and data visualization.

• Technical understanding of available equipment and established pre-engineered systems for systems design.

• Experience in reviewing design drawings developed by others.

• Authorization to work in the U.S.; the employer does not sponsor work authorization for employees.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

• Experience in construction and start-up is advantageous.

• Commissioning experience is a plus.

• Extensive technical support background in nuclear plant design, planning, testing, operations, specifications, oversight, and execution.

• Familiarity with licensing strategies for Digital I&C Modernization projects.

• Willingness or capability to lead others in utilizing automation and AI to enhance engineering workflows.

• Experience managing Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel automation is valued but not mandatory.

• Additional qualifications in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields are appreciated but not required.
