This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Manage significant property losses on both a regional and company-wide scale as required.
• Assess exposure and evaluate losses to ensure prompt resolution.
• Deliver outstanding customer service.
• Control costs and prevent leakage related to substantial property losses.
• Act as the CAT Coordinator during specified catastrophes.
• Supervise UFG’s Catastrophe Plan and conduct annual reviews and updates as necessary.
• Review Catography reports on a daily basis to track catastrophe activity.
• Serve as a training resource for property-related matters.
• Support new-hire and regional property training initiatives.
• Function as a general subject matter expert.
• Process claims in accordance with Claims Best Practices, Claims Gold Standard reserving, and UFG’s Catastrophe Plan.
• A minimum of 10 years in property claims experience.
• A 4-year college degree is preferred.
• AIC, SCLA, or PCLA from the AEI series; if the adjuster lacks this designation, it must be obtained within three years.
• Willingness and capability to engage in continuing education relevant to the role and responsibilities.
• Compliance with applicable state licensing laws and regulations.
• Self-driven with excellent time-management abilities and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient technical, analytical, and investigative skills.
• Competence in computer technology and estimating software.
• Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Exceptional soft skills and customer service aptitude.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Capability to work autonomously and remotely from a home office.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to travel overnight, including assignments related to catastrophes.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time on short notice.
• Capacity to work outdoors and lift up to 40 lbs.
