This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of uptime, performance, and resilience for NBA platform services.

• Engage in writing and deploying production code with your team; this is not a supervisory position.

• Develop and sustain automated testing infrastructure encompassing unit, integration, and end-to-end layers.

• Manage the platform's logging, alerting, and monitoring systems.

• Design and implement error handling protocols across platform services.

• Lead initiatives to ensure the system scales effectively as member numbers and data throughput increase.

• Establish and uphold the criteria that pods must satisfy prior to transferring new services or features.

• Supervise quality and reliability engineers within your pod; set expectations, review their work, and maintain team standards.

• Collaborate closely with all delivery pod leaders to identify quality and reliability issues early on.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.

• Over 2 years of experience in project leadership.

• More than 6 years of full-stack software engineering experience, with at least 1-2 years focused on platform reliability, software quality, or site reliability engineering.

• At least 8 years of progressive technical experience as a senior developer on large technology projects.

• Practical experience in building and managing testing infrastructure, including automated test suites, integration testing, load testing, and end-to-end coverage.

• A solid understanding of observability practices, including structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting.

• Experience in designing and implementing error handling and failure management strategies across distributed systems.

• Demonstrated ability to lead a small team or pod through delivery and manage contractor resources effectively.

• Comfortable working with a polyglot stack; the NBA platform includes Java, Python, Node.js, and TypeScript.
