πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Oversee the technical development, accuracy and uncertainty qualification, testing, verification, regulatory licensing, and maintenance of analytical methods for both steady-state and transient core/fuel performance in nuclear reactors.

β€’ Create, sustain, and offer analytics, technical consultation, and licensing oversight for engineering computer codes, correlations, and methodologies pertaining to BWRs and SMRs.

β€’ Operate within an established regulatory framework for nuclear software quality assurance.

β€’ Prepare, document, and present technical information to both internal and external stakeholders.

β€’ Lead and actively participate in team process enhancements.

β€’ Assist users through comprehensive documentation and training.

β€’ Collaborate with internal and external users of lattice physics codes such as LANCR and the 3D core simulator PANAC.

β€’ Communicate and coordinate technical tasks with team members effectively.

β€’ Aid the technical leader and functional manager in planning, reporting status, and executing projects.

β€’ Facilitate interactions with regulatory bodies including NRC and DOE.

β€’ Contribute to the nuclear and thermal-hydraulic design of innovative fuel products.

β€’ Address urgent customer inquiries related to reactor neutronics, thermal-hydraulics, and instrumentation physics.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Proficiency in programming with Fortran and Python.

β€’ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in computer science, computational methods, nuclear engineering, or a closely related technical field AND a minimum of 5 years of experience in nuclear methods development, neutron transport, lattice physics, or nuclear cross-section generation.

β€’ Master's degree from an accredited institution in computer science, computational methods, nuclear engineering, or a closely related technical field AND a minimum of 3 years of experience in nuclear methods development, neutron transport, lattice physics, or nuclear cross-section generation.

β€’ Ph.D. from an accredited institution in computer science, computational methods, nuclear engineering, or a closely related technical field with a thesis focused on nuclear methods development, neutron transport, lattice physics, or nuclear cross-section generation AND a minimum of 1 year of experience in nuclear methods development, neutron transport, lattice physics, or nuclear cross-section generation.

β€’ This position necessitates access to U.S. export-controlled information; final job offers may be subject to authorization from the U.S. Government.

β€’ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

β€’ Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.

β€’ Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate within a team.
