Lead Engineer – Protection & Control

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of protection & control engineers, engineering technicians, and drafting technicians throughout the project lifecycle from proposal to as-built stage.

• Collaborate with Substation Physical Engineering, Relay Settings, and other departments to ensure design alignment.

• Create comprehensive engineering design packages for protective relaying and communication systems.

• Develop SCADA packages, including input/output lists (Point Data Sheets).

• Offer technical guidance and hands-on training to drafters, engineering technicians, and junior engineers.

• Cultivate and sustain relationships with senior engineers, managers, executives, and both current and potential clients.

• Present technical solutions to key clients and address technical inquiries and concerns.

• Lead and/or participate in client meetings and job site visits to gather or present design and engineering information.

• Ensure compliance with company QA/QC processes for all design packages.

• Assign, plan, prioritize, and review the work of fellow engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE); Civil Engineering degrees may also be considered.

• An MS Degree in Engineering may be accepted in place of a BS Engineering degree.

• International Engineering Degrees are welcome for consideration.

• A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electrical engineering is preferred.

• Required experience in protection and control engineering.

• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is mandatory.

• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is advantageous.

• Strong analytical and computer skills are essential.

• Capability to lead and mentor engineers, engineering technicians, and drafting technicians.
