Lead Engineer – Overhead Transmission Line Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Develop designs for transmission structures and high voltage power lines.

• Create and evaluate technical specifications and drawings.

• Execute engineering analyses and simulations related to transmission line design.

• Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers and team members.

• Conduct independent assessments of calculations, drawings, specifications, and PLS-CADD models for transmission lines.

• Assist the project team during the construction and installation phases.

• Work collaboratively with engineers and project managers to achieve project objectives.

• Ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

• Carry out fieldwork as necessary for design, construction, and commissioning tasks.

• Interact with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

• Take part in project meetings and offer technical support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical).

• At least 5+ years of experience in high voltage transmission line design.

• PE License is mandatory.

• In-depth understanding of structural design and analysis principles and tools.

• Solid working knowledge of foundation design and analysis.

• Expertise in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, FAD Tools, and AutoCAD.

• Familiar with NESC, ASCE, ACI, RUS, IEC, and IEEE standards.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Capable of working both independently and within a team.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
