This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Oversee the comprehensive technical coordination of High Voltage Substation projects.
• Act as the main point of contact among internal teams, clients, construction sites, partners, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate activities related to Primary/Secondary equipment, Protection & Control, Telecom, Civil Works, and Commissioning disciplines.
• Establish scope boundaries and delineate responsibilities among the parties involved.
• Assist the sales team in formulating technical solution strategies and assessing quantities.
• Ensure that designs and solutions meet customer specifications as well as IEC, ANSI, and IEEE standards.
• Validate changes to projects, engineering deliverables, and proposals from suppliers/subcontractors.
• Assess client requirements, manage documentation clause-by-clause, and address technical queries and exceptions.
• Manage the master engineering schedule, integrating procurement, construction, and commissioning milestones.
• Track engineering progress against KPIs and manage technical risks with mitigation strategies.
• Supervise the creation, review, and approval of technical documentation.
• Provide technical assistance to construction and commissioning teams.
• Carry out site visits, surveys, and data validation for electromechanical, civil, and electrical projects.
• Conduct calculations for grounding, cable sizing, CT/PT adequacy, and auxiliary system sizing.
• Draft and validate technical specifications for procurement of equipment and services.
• Ensure adherence to contractual EHS requirements.
• Implement optimized, cost-effective solutions that enhance installation and operational reliability.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Automation & Control Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in engineering activities as a technical coordinator within an EPC environment, specifically in Transmission & Distribution Power Systems, Power Generation, or the industry.
• Demonstrated professional experience in the Venezuelan energy sector, with extensive knowledge of local regulatory requirements, technical standards (e.g., COVENIN), and specific grid operational characteristics.
• Proficient in Spanish.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Familiarity with high voltage products, substation engineering design, and related services.
• Understanding of international standards for substations (IEEE, IEC, ANSI).
• Experience in technical problem-solving.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for meetings, site visits, and training sessions.
• Strong knowledge of high voltage power transformers, shunt reactors, circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers, and medium voltage systems.
• Previous experience with FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) and/or HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) systems.
• Experience in construction, field testing, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of substation protection and control schemes, SCADA communication systems, and both factory and site testing.
• Proven multi-team leadership experience.
• Excellent team-working skills, along with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
