This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Oversee comprehensive technical coordination of High Voltage Substation projects from start to finish.
• Act as the main point of contact between internal teams, clients, construction sites, partners, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate disciplines including Primary/Secondary equipment, Protection & Control, Telecom, Civil Works, and Commissioning.
• Establish scope boundaries and responsibilities among all stakeholders involved.
• Assist the sales team in formulating technical solution strategies and estimating quantities.
• Ensure that designs meet customer specifications and adhere to IEC, ANSI, and IEEE standards.
• Validate changes in projects, engineering deliverables, and proposals from suppliers/subcontractors.
• Analyze client requirements, manage detailed documentation, and address technical inquiries and exceptions.
• Oversee the engineering master schedule and align it with procurement, construction, and commissioning timelines.
• Track engineering progress against KPIs and manage technical risks through mitigation strategies.
• Supervise the creation, review, and approval of technical documentation.
• Provide technical assistance to construction and commissioning teams.
• Conduct site visits, surveys, and data validation for electromechanical, civil, and electrical projects.
• Execute calculations for grounding, cable sizing, CT/PT adequacy, and auxiliary system sizing.
• Draft and validate technical specifications for the procurement of equipment and services.
• Ensure compliance with contractual EHS requirements.
• Implement optimized, cost-effective solutions to enhance installation and operational reliability.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Automation & Control Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in engineering activities as a technical coordinator in an EPC environment within Transmission & Distribution Power Systems, Power Generation, or industry.
• Demonstrated professional experience in the Venezuelan energy sector, with a thorough understanding of local regulatory requirements, technical standards (e.g., COVENIN), and specific grid operational characteristics.
• Proficient in Spanish.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Familiarity with high voltage products, substation engineering design, and associated services.
• Knowledge of international standards for substations (IEEE, IEC, ANSI).
• Experience in technical problem-solving.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for meetings, site visits, and training sessions.
• Strong understanding of high voltage power transformers, shunt reactors, circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers, and medium voltage systems.
• Previous knowledge of FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) and/or HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) Systems.
• Experience in construction, field testing, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of substation protection and control schemes, SCADA communication systems, and factory/site testing.
• Experience in leading multiple teams.
