Lead Engineer – Full Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the architecture, quality, and delivery of the Angular application along with related APIs and services.

• Establish and uphold coding standards, design patterns, and best practices across both mobile and full-stack development; promote an A.I.-first engineering approach.

• Direct technical roadmap decisions ensuring alignment with product objectives, timelines, and the larger engineering organization.

• Offer technical expertise in architecture, design, testing, and implementation that covers web UI through backend API contracts and LLM integration patterns.

• Conduct detailed code reviews and perform root cause analysis on critical production issues.

• Collaborate with industry groups or open-source communities.

• Manage the complete delivery of web features from technical scoping to release and production monitoring.

• Break down intricate requirements into engineering tasks, milestones, and responsibilities across a distributed team.

• Identify and address technical risks throughout the development lifecycle.

• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines and release management processes for both platforms.

• Establish and uphold observability and logging best practices for all layers of the application.

• Design and implement solutions with a focus on performance, security, and accessibility.

• Lead and mentor a geographically distributed team across the Americas and India.

• Work collaboratively with Product, Design, QA, and Backend teams following Agile methodologies.

• Spearhead organizational initiatives and continuously enhance engineering practices.

• Engage in hiring activities, including resume reviews, technical interviews, and candidate assessments.

• Set expectations for both full-time employees and contractors.

• Ensure software quality through automated testing, alerting, and proactive production support.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 10 years of software development experience, with a minimum of 5 years concentrated on full-stack development.

• Proficient in A.I.-first engineering and familiar with tools such as Claude, Co-Pilot, and others.

• Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Design principles and the capability to architect both a UI and an API effectively.

• Proven full-stack proficiency—capable of owning or collaborating on BFF/API layers.

• Extensive experience in cross-browser and cross-platform development, including mobile and responsive user interfaces.

• Background in developing and architecting high-transaction, high-throughput systems.

• Demonstrated capability to lead distributed teams across various time zones with a strong sense of personal accountability.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities; detail-oriented, methodical, and skilled at translating complex business requirements into straightforward software solutions.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and open-source technologies.

• Experience with LLM/AI-native development patterns and integrating AI-driven features into consumer products.

• Proven experience leading teams of 5+ engineers across multiple regions.

• Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture and microservices.

• Knowledge of mobile accessibility standards (WCAG, platform accessibility APIs).

• Experience in fintech, consumer lending, or other similarly regulated sectors.
