This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the team on intricate nuclear electrical engineering projects.
• Examine, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical engineering challenges for both single- and multi-discipline projects.
• Direct team members to fulfill electrical engineering deliverables that align with technical, quality, financial, and project-control standards.
• Initiate and communicate the scope of work to team members.
• Specify deliverables such as calculations, specifications, and drawings.
• Review status and monitor team member progress to adhere to scope and budget, while keeping the client informed.
• Conduct regular status meetings and provide progress reports.
• Track and address open items and emerging project issues.
• Coordinate the completion of project deliverables.
• Lead detailed design phases and manage interfaces with other disciplines.
• Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules for complex electrical modifications within nuclear power plants.
• Create proposals for intricate electrical modifications at nuclear power facilities.
• Offer technical oversight and supervision for electrical engineering tasks.
• Formulate engineering design change packages for the installation, replacement, or upgrade of plant equipment.
• Generate engineering calculations such as AC/DC power studies, short circuit analysis, cable ampacity, voltage drop assessments, breaker coordination, motor starting, and protective relay configurations.
• Draft equipment procurement specifications.
• Assist in bid review evaluations for potential equipment suppliers and address vendor inquiries.
• Collaborate with clients to confirm scope and ensure satisfaction.
• Mentor and support the development of the team.
• Identify client needs that could present strategic opportunities.
• Generate follow-on work from established client relationships.
• Prepare and coordinate multi-discipline proposals.
• Lead automation and process improvement initiatives involving engineering workflows and AI-enabled tools, reviewing automated outputs.
• A BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in designing electrical engineering systems for nuclear power plants.
• At least 5 years of experience leading an engineering design group through all phases of project design.
• Experience in selecting equipment, materials, and preparing and assembling engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications.
• Proven experience serving as a firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering capacity.
• Familiarity with electrical system design, including low and medium voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors, relays, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information to project team members and clients.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Detail-oriented approach to work.
• Eligible for unescorted access to a nuclear facility.
• PE Licensure is preferred.
• This position does not offer sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S.
• Willingness or ability to lead others using modern tools such as automation and AI.
• Additional education in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields is valued but not mandatory.
