This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Supervise and evaluate the design of solar PV and battery energy storage systems, ranging from rooftop to utility-scale projects.

• Provide mentorship to Engineering team members and assess deliverables for technical quality and uniformity.

• Offer technical support throughout the design, interconnection, and construction phases.

• Manage daily project execution, allocate tasks, oversee workflows, monitor milestones, and compile status reports.

• Liaise with clients, vendors, utilities, and local governmental entities.

• Execute energy production simulations and modeling utilizing MS Excel, PVSyst, and Helioscope.

• Conduct power system analyses, including underground ampacity, load flow, protective coordination, short-circuit, grounding, and arc flash evaluations using ETAP.

• Develop and sustain feasibility studies, scopes of work, commissioning reports, technical specifications, and RFP responses.

• Aid Project Leads with prioritizing engineering tasks, managing resources, and performing administrative responsibilities.

• Ensure that designs adhere to NEC, CEC, IEEE, as well as building and fire codes.

• Carry out on-site field inspections for design validation, construction, and commissioning.

• Suggest and implement enhancements in design methodologies, project execution, and product efficiency.

• Assist in business development through proposal contributions, engineering scope assessments, and system configuration recommendations.

• Collaborate with external engineering consultants and partners to ensure quality assurance and compliance with jurisdictional requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in power systems engineering, specifically in solar and battery storage.

• Licensed Professional Engineer in New York or in a state with reciprocal licensing.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering.

• Skilled in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, PSCAD).

• Knowledgeable in the National Electrical Code (NEC).

• Familiarity with IEEE 1547, CSA 22.2 No. 107.1, UL 1741, and NFPA 855 is advantageous.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Legally permitted to work in the U.S.

• Willing to travel to various project locations.
