Lead Director, Actuarial – Medicare Part D

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee and cultivate a team tasked with pricing, projections, reporting, and actuarial support for substantial fully-insured clients and the overall portfolio.

• Offer strategic assistance for the expanding unbundled demographic with Medicare Advantage medical coverage and standalone PDP pharmacy coverage.

• Collaborate with Underwriting, Product, Sales, Account teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders on intricate business, cross-sell, and renewal scenarios.

• Deliver strategic actuarial insights during rate evaluations and financial assessments for large and complex cases.

• Interpret legislative and regulatory changes into business implications for stakeholders, consultants, and employer groups.

• Execute and supervise studies for assumption establishment, pricing model creation, and other actuarial analyses.

• Recognize issues that could significantly impact financial outcomes and formulate data-driven recommendations.

• Address complex business challenges and provide actionable solutions utilizing technical skills, judgment, and critical thinking.

• Propel project ownership, priority management, deadline adherence, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Mentor, coach, and develop team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree along with over 8 years of pertinent actuarial or healthcare-related analytical experience.

• ASA or FSA credential is mandatory.

• Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.

• Capacity to convey intricate actuarial and financial concepts to various audiences.

• Proven history of achieving results through cross-functional collaboration.

• Ability to apply analytical rigor, sound judgment, and strategic thought to complex business issues.

• Experience influencing stakeholders and engaging in discussions with senior leadership.

• Capability to lead projects, manage competing priorities, and produce high-quality work within set deadlines.

• Preferred: Experience with Medicare Part D, Medicare Advantage, or other government services sectors.

• Preferred: Experience in evaluating legislative or regulatory changes and translating them into business implications.

• Preferred: Leadership experience in mentoring, developing, and coaching team members.
