Lead Data Engineer – Databricks

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Spearhead comprehensive data migration projects, ensuring seamless, secure, and business-aligned transitions.

• Establish and convey data architecture choices across cloud data platforms like AWS Redshift, Databricks, and associated technologies.

• Facilitate the discovery and documentation of dependencies, schema inventories, data flows, and essential migration processes.

• Take ownership of migration and cutover planning, including validations and contingency strategies.

• Act as the primary point of contact between engineering, analytics, product, and business stakeholders.

• Convert technical modifications into clear assessments of business impact.

• Define and document assumptions, requirements, and acceptance criteria.

• Supervise the validation of migrated datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity.

• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with migration while escalating blockers and dependencies.

• Foster problem-solving and decision-making in dynamic and uncertain environments.

• Develop and maintain migration runbooks, testing strategies, rollback plans, and operational procedures.

• Deliver project status updates to both technical and executive stakeholders.

• Advocate for data governance, quality, and operational best practices.

• Align engineers, analysts, and product stakeholders regarding priorities, timelines, and delivery expectations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in Data Engineering, with experience in building and optimizing data pipelines.

• Proficiency with Databricks, Python, and Spark, including batch and streaming development.

• Advanced English proficiency.

• Familiarity with a BI visualization tool such as Looker or Tableau.
