This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Take complete ownership of Fullbay's data platform from start to finish, encompassing architecture, hands-on development, and organization-wide data standards.
• Be responsible for certified metric and entity definitions, acting as the final decision-maker in cases of cross-functional definitional conflicts.
• Ensure that documentation is up-to-date, enabling business users to find reliable answers independently.
• Develop and enhance the gold layer utilizing SQL and transformation code maintained in version control alongside automated testing.
• Manage identity resolution across Classic, Next, and Salesforce, including crosswalk logic, survivorship rules, and platform-of-record determinations.
• Oversee Snowflake role hierarchy, grants, row access and masking policies, warehouse sizing, cost attribution, and expenditure management.
• Design tailored access paths for AI agents, which include individual agent identities, grants, registration patterns, and retention policies.
• Onboard new data sources, manage schema drift and deletion detection, and collaborate with engineering on changes to source schemas.
• Define the scope of work for the retained architecture consultant, review their deliverables, and reject any non-compliant work.
• Provide support and office hours for business users and AI builders seeking to utilize the data platform independently.
• Comply with confidentiality and compliance regulations.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in data engineering, with proven ownership of a production data platform, is required.
• Extensive experience in dimensional modeling is essential: capable of defining a grain, justifying historization choices for each attribute, and articulating a restatement policy.
• Proficiency with Snowflake (or a similar cloud data warehouse) beyond SQL — including warehouse strategy, cost management, RBAC, and environment design — is required.
• Experience in creating transformations as version-controlled code with automated tests and continuous integration is necessary.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is required.
• Experience with change data capture and incremental extraction from application databases is mandatory.
• Familiarity with entity resolution across systems with distinct identifiers is required.
• Strong written communication skills are crucial; the ability to diplomatically arbitrate cross-functional definitional disagreements is essential.
• Preferred: Experience serving AI or programmatic consumers of data, knowledge of the Salesforce object model, prior experience as a company’s first data hire, and experience managing external vendors.
• Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
• Comprehensive health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
• Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
• Flexible work hours and remote work options.
• Collaborative and inclusive company culture.
