This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the design of analytics products, which includes creating dashboard layouts, visualization techniques, and the architecture of semantic models.
• Create and produce high-quality reports and dashboards ready for production use.
• Directly engage with stakeholders to validate key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Develop certified Power BI semantic models, executive dashboards, operational reporting, and self-service analytics that adhere to governance standards.
• Design and execute multi-layered data pipelines utilizing Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, or similar tools.
• Set up automated processes for data quality checks, reconciliation, pipeline monitoring, alerts, and operational support dashboards.
• Modernize and reverse-engineer existing legacy SQL, SSIS, or integration workloads.
• Create and uphold engineering standards for SQL, Python, notebooks, repositories, testing procedures, documentation, and naming conventions.
• Implement Azure DevOps strategies for branching, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and environment segregation.
• Develop frameworks for enterprise data governance, which include documentation, role-based access controls, metric definitions, and data lineage tracking.
• Convert business and analytical requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Assist in providing technical guidance across data environments and data presentation efforts.
• Mentor team members and contribute to fostering a collaborative engineering culture.
• Diagnose technical problems and proactively identify data issues through validation and monitoring.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as mathematics, information technology, engineering, accounting, or computational finance.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in business analytics or data engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with BI visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, DOMO, or similar platforms.
• Extensive production experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, or another modern cloud data platform.
• Proficient in SQL and Python.
• Experience in constructing production ingestion, transformation, and analytics pipelines.
• Knowledge in implementing data governance, quality monitoring, data lineage, and access controls.
• Familiarity with reverse-engineering and modernizing legacy SQL, SSIS, or integration workloads.
• Proficient with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, testing, and managing controlled production releases.
• Knowledge of Data Vault 2.0 or an equivalent governed historical modeling approach.
• Ability to effectively communicate with both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
• Proven track record of owning solutions from design through to production support.
• Strong skills in documentation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
• Must have a primary workplace located in the Central Time Zone.
