Lead Cost Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Conduct all required analyses and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of the inventory system.

• Execute cost accounting and analytical tasks.

• Supervise at least one direct report.

• Manage and support cost accounting operations across multiple locations.

• Perform cost analysis, pinpoint cost-saving opportunities, and spearhead cost reduction initiatives.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in the inventory sub-ledger within the ERP system.

• Assist in the review of quarterly inventory reserve calculations.

• Analyze variances between actual and standard costs.

• Conduct annual updates of standard costs.

• Perform month-end analyses of the cost of sales.

• Collaborate on both internal and external audit requests and manage cost accounting-related SOX controls.

• Aid in budget preparation and product cost analysis.

• Engage in efforts to reduce inventory levels.

• Monitor scrap and obsolete inventories.

• Collaborate with Operations on physical inventory counts.

• Address inventory discrepancies, cycle counts, and various inventory functions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

• 8 years of experience in cost accounting.

• Experience with SAP is preferred.
