Lead Cloud Security Architect, GCP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop security architecture tailored for cloud workloads on Google Cloud Platform.

• Produce security design documentation and decision records for essential cloud security choices.

• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to deploy cloud security services and measures.

• Verify configurations align with organizational security policies and best practices for cloud platforms.

• Ensure compliance with cloud security best practices and relevant regulatory requirements.

• Make informed decisions regarding critical security controls and document the trade-offs among security, cost, and speed.

• Develop security guidelines, runbooks, and training materials for development and operations teams focused on cloud security.

• Assess architecture designs and cloud infrastructure configurations for potential security vulnerabilities.

• Perform threat modeling for high-risk cloud workloads and propose mitigation strategies.

• Act as a trusted security advisor to engineering, operations, and leadership teams concerning cloud security issues.

• Clearly communicate security decisions and associated risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Fulfill responsibilities outlined in annual performance evaluations and/or goal-setting processes.

• Undertake special projects and other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in professional security architecture or cloud infrastructure engineering.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related discipline.

• Extensive knowledge of Google Cloud Platform security services and best practices, with a willingness to learn about other cloud platforms.

• Capability to make security decisions and communicate trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (such as Terraform or similar) and cloud security methodologies.

• Relevant cloud security certification (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer, CISSP, or equivalent).

• Ability to assess risk and provide sound recommendations.

• Proficiency in presenting recommendations to technical and executive audiences.

• Skill in translating security requirements into actionable steps.

• Willingness to collaborate across teams and manage competing priorities.

• Responsibility for security decisions and their implementation.

• Commitment to staying updated with new cloud services and security practices.

• Must be capable of performing duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
