Lead Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create reusable patterns for automation and orchestration that facilitate assessment, reporting, evidence collection, testing, and implementation workflows.

• Build scripts, APIs, and integrations that connect approved enterprise tools and enhance data movement across technical workstreams.

• Automate the collection of recurring evidence and perform exception-based analysis where authoritative data sources allow.

• Facilitate reusable implementation tools and standardized deployment or validation processes.

• Document the architecture of automation, including dependencies, interfaces, security considerations, and operational handoff requirements.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of automation and suggest improvements based on lessons learned from implementations.

• Assist in the implementation of security capabilities, assess technical solutions, maintain cybersecurity tools, and aid operational teams in translating security architecture into repeatable practices.

• Work collaboratively with vulnerability management, incident response, RMF, and ISSO teams to mitigate operational risks and promote continuous improvement.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of five years of experience in automation, integration, DevSecOps, or security engineering.

• Strong proficiency in Python, PowerShell, APIs, workflow orchestration, or similar automation technologies.

• Experience with the integration of security, analytics, ticketing, and infrastructure platforms.

• Familiarity with Zero Trust principles, Federal cybersecurity controls, and secure automation methodologies.

• Background in infrastructure as code, CI/CD, SOAR, or enterprise workflow platforms.

• Experience in automating cybersecurity evidence collection and reporting.

• Experience working within large-scale Federal environments.

• Preferred certifications include Security+, CISSP, Azure Developer, AWS Developer, or a certification related to DevSecOps.
