Lead Architect – Azure DR

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Architect and spearhead Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning solutions based on Azure.

• Design and manage Azure DR architectures utilizing Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, and strategies involving multiple regions.

• Establish RTO/RPO targets, recovery methodologies, and application dependency mapping for Azure workloads.

• Develop and enforce Azure DR/BCP policies, standards, and recovery strategies.

• Perform risk assessments and Business Impact Analyses for Azure and hybrid environments.

• Plan, implement, and supervise Azure DR drills, failover/failback tests, and BCP exercises.

• Ensure compliance and audit readiness in accordance with security, regulatory, and organizational standards.

• Identify gaps in resiliency and promote continuous enhancement of Azure recovery capabilities.

• Collaborate with cloud, application, security, and executive teams to ensure DR/BCP preparedness.

• Take ownership of governance, documentation, and stakeholder communication as the Azure DR/BCP Architect and Lead.

• Direct DR tabletop exercises through scripted failure scenarios.

• Conduct comprehensive DR drills and supervise failover to secondary sites or the cloud, including monitoring restoration times, data integrity, and failback procedures.

• Engage in hands-on testing of critical Oracle EBS modules, databases, and cloud workloads to guarantee recovery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in DR, BCP, or IT Resiliency architecture.

• Profound knowledge of DR strategies, recovery planning, and risk management.

• Experience with enterprise infrastructure, cloud, and models for application recovery.

• Practical experience in planning and executing DR and BCP tests.

• Solid understanding of compliance, audit, and governance frameworks.

• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Exceptional communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional and senior leadership teams.

• Preferred: Experience with Azure cloud DR.

• Preferred: Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-400, AZ-104).
