Lead Applied Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Lead a team of 4-8 Applied Scientists to enhance research projects and improve algorithmic performance utilizing both state-of-the-art and classical techniques.

• Take ownership of and sustain existing computer vision features.

• Develop prototypes for new features within the realms of computer vision and sensor technologies.

• Collaborate with the data team to evaluate research test data, create assessment metrics, and refine algorithms.

• Spearhead comprehensive research development in the sensors field.

• Guide the team to achieve critical milestones and adhere to timelines.

• Monitor team performance and report directly to the Head of Research.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in research, data science, or data analysis.

• At least 1 year of experience leading a research group or technical team on data science initiatives.

• Strong background as a software engineer focused on advanced algorithms, or as a researcher with a proven history of delivering robust production-ready software engineering solutions.

• Extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of Computer Vision algorithms.

• Solid grasp of deep learning frameworks, machine learning, and data analysis concepts.

• Strong proficiency in Python.

• Good understanding of computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and data structures.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related discipline.

• Proficient in both written and spoken English.

• Nice to have: Experience with LLMs and Generative AI frameworks.

• Nice to have: Experience with DSP, Computer Vision segmentation, Metric Learning, and Kalman filters.

• Nice to have: Experience with C++ or a willingness to gain strong expertise in C++.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with AWS and Docker.
