Senior Applied Scientist, Shopping AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete design, development, and deployment process of applied machine learning models and algorithms.

• Engage in problem formulation, data exploration, experimentation, evaluation, and the transition to production.

• Design scalable pipelines for data preparation, feature engineering, model training, and model serving.

• Execute offline analyses and online experiments to assess model performance.

• Analyze results and propose data-driven enhancements to product experiences and business metrics.

• Convert business requirements into scientific specifications and technical roadmaps.

• Enforce responsible AI practices, including model monitoring and assessments for fairness and bias.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to applied scientists and engineers.

• Create ranking, recommendation, and generative AI systems to enhance Zillow’s home-shopping experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Over 8 years of experience in applying machine learning or advanced statistical modeling within an industry context.

• Proven experience in deploying models within production environments.

• Familiarity with large-scale data sets.

• Background in experimentation or A/B testing.

• Experience in measuring model performance for consumer or enterprise-level products.

• Proven track record of successful collaboration within cross-functional teams.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
