Research Assistant – 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development and finalization of manuscripts, which includes drafting outlines, writing content, creating tables and figures, and formatting documents.

• Perform systematic and ad hoc literature searches utilizing databases like PubMed.

• Keep a record of search terms and articles retrieved during literature searches.

• Review scientific literature and extract relevant study characteristics.

• Fill out literature review tables and compile important associations for meta-analyses.

• Adhere to journal-specific submission guidelines and format manuscripts, tables, figures, and references accordingly.

• Create and format presentation slides.

• Format client reports based on specified templates.

• Identify validated research instruments and program/test questionnaires using REDCap.

• Provide support for participant contact, recruitment, scheduling, and tracking.

• Review table inputs, conduct spot-checks on results, format tables, and offer analysis support along with results summaries.

• Review and refine transcripts, create codebooks, and upload materials into NVivo or Dedoose.

• Assist in transcript coding and take thematic notes.

• Engage in analysis workshops, create manuscript outlines, and identify supporting quotes.

• Work collaboratively with researchers, data managers, analysts, and government clients throughout the research lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of relevant experience.

• Coursework or practical experience in epidemiologic methods, biostatistics, or research design.

• Prior experience in literature reviews, scientific writing, or data collection is preferred but not mandatory.

• Exceptional oral and written communication and organizational skills are essential.

• Ability to work collaboratively in teams as well as independently.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

• Familiarity with REDCap, NVivo, Dedoose, or statistical software such as SAS, R, or SPSS is advantageous.

• Openness to learning new methodological approaches, topical areas, software languages, or other skills as necessary.
