Research Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist in the daily execution of a large-scale federal statistical and data collection initiative across research, field operations, data management, and reporting workstreams.

• Aid in survey data gathering, oversee field progress, evaluate data collection metrics, and facilitate issue resolution.

• Keep project schedules, trackers, task lists, documentation, and various other tools up to date.

• Engage in project meetings, record decisions and action items, and ensure follow-through on subsequent steps.

• Collaborate with internal personnel, subcontractors, field teams, and project stakeholders.

• Examine survey data, reports, questionnaires, materials, and project deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.

• Assist with questionnaire programming and software testing, including documentation and retesting of issues.

• Create regular reports, presentations, analyses, and client deliverables.

• Support qualitative research efforts, including recruitment, logistics, interviews or focus groups, and note-taking.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree is required, ideally in social sciences, business, statistics, economics, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience.

• A keen interest in survey research methodologies and their implementation.

• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

• Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Proven proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English is advantageous, especially for those with experience in multilingual research or data collection.

• Interest or background in aviation, tourism, or travel research is a plus.
