This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and governance of essential KPIs, metric definitions, and semantic layers.

• Execute intricate analytical tasks utilizing advanced SQL across RDS, Oracle, and Redshift.

• Conduct performance optimization and cost-effective querying in Athena.

• Leverage Python to develop reproducible analyses, automation scripts, and data validation checks.

• Establish data quality standards and implement automated checks along with anomaly detection.

• Collaboratively address data-quality resolutions with engineering teams.

• Perform in-depth analyses, including cohorting, funneling, forecasting, and experiment design.

• Develop and maintain Source-to-Target Mapping documentation.

• Work closely with both upstream and downstream stakeholders.

• Enhance query performance through the use of sort keys, distribution keys, partitioning, predicate pushdown, and compression strategies.

• Set up version control and peer-review processes for analytical assets.

• Participate in lightweight CI practices for SQL and testing.

• Collaborate with global data stakeholders to facilitate business-critical analytics.


⛳️ Requirements

• Degree holder required for the visa application process.

• Expert-level SQL proficiency on RDS, Oracle, and Redshift, including advanced query tuning and vacuum/analyze awareness.

• Demonstrated expertise in AWS Athena, covering partitions, file formats, and strategies for cost control.

• Advanced skills in Business Intelligence development, data storytelling, and UX best practices for dashboards.

• Strong programming skills in Python for analysis, automation, packaging, and reusable analytics functions.

• Basic familiarity with pandas, statsmodels, and scikit-learn.

• Solid understanding of statistics for inference and experiment design, with practical application in business contexts.

• Capability to translate intricate business requirements into effective analytical solutions.

• Experience with Confluence and Jira.

• Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to agile delivery.

• Understanding the distinction between coding and engineering.

• Experience with advanced modeling tools and analytics-layer governance.

• Familiarity with AWS Glue Data Catalog, basics of IAM, and S3 file formats such as Parquet and ORC.

• Exposure to event-based data architectures, including Kinesis, SNS, and SQS.

• Understanding of data freshness SLAs.

• Ability to create scalable, reusable dashboards and data models in QuickSight or Tableau.

• Skill in enforcing consistency and naming conventions.

• Familiarity with cloud-native principles or AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot.

• Proficient oral communication skills in English.

• Proficient oral communication skills in Spanish.
