Lead Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of, maintain, enhance, and scale the Snowflake data warehouse, transformation layer, and ETL/ELT pipelines.

• Develop and manage dependable ingestion integrations from platforms such as NetSuite, Jira/service platforms, and custom applications.

• Oversee pipeline monitoring, troubleshoot failures, and guarantee accurate and reliable data delivery.

• Lead the BI layer, currently using HEX, and assess or transition to Tableau or Looker as the company grows.

• Collaborate with the COO to translate operational objectives into data models, dashboards, and actionable insights.

• Define metrics, create documentation, conduct testing, establish data-quality standards, and maintain the metric dictionary.

• Notify stakeholders when data is incomplete or should not be trusted.

• Automate recurring operational reports, conduct ad hoc analysis, SLA reporting, and compile client review data.

• Explore new tools and models to enhance problem-solving capabilities.

• Act as the primary data consultant for leaders in operations, finance, and engineering.

• Convert operational challenges into data models and automated dashboards.

• Collaborate across data engineering and analytics, including pipeline construction, data modeling, BI, dashboards, and data storytelling.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or analytics.

• Significant experience in constructing data models and pipelines that others depend upon.

• Preference for candidates who have served as the first or sole data practitioner.

• Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake, including architecture, performance tuning, and optimization.

• Proficient in advanced SQL.

• Valued experience with integration/ETL tools such as Celigo, Fivetran, dbt, or custom API scripting.

• Proven experience in creating impactful dashboards.

• Familiarity with HEX is a considerable advantage.

• Required experience with Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker.

• Experience working with data from ERPs like NetSuite, project management tools like Jira, and custom web applications.

• Capability to work with minimal structure, identify high-value analytics tasks, prioritize effectively, and deliver from problem definition to completion.
