📋 Description

• Develop and sustain components of capacity expansion models, production cost and dispatch models, as well as frameworks for scenario and sensitivity analysis.

• Convert business and domain inputs into structured, testable model logic.

• Create and manage data pipelines for both internal and external datasets.

• Clean, transform, and validate extensive datasets for modeling applications.

• Support data governance initiatives and standardized modeling inputs.

• Design analytical tools using Python, R, Julia, or comparable languages to enhance spreadsheet-based workflows.

• Automate recurring forecasting processes.

• Contribute reusable code, libraries, and analytics modules that enhance scalability and consistency.

• Utilize AI tools to extract and process data from both structured and unstructured sources.

• Employ AI-enabled methods to summarize market reports and datasets, thereby improving modeling inputs.

• Facilitate experimentation with emerging AI techniques across forecasting workflows.

• Execute forecasting runs, calibrate, validate, and interpret model outputs.

• Identify and troubleshoot model, data, and workflow complications.

• Enhance forecasting model performance, scalability, and usability.

• Collaborate with domain experts to grasp assumptions, market logic, and forecasting requirements.

• Analyze market trends and model outputs.

• Prepare insightful decision-support materials for internal stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data science, economics, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• 3–5 years of experience in energy analytics, forecasting, power markets, advanced analytics, data science, or a similar technical area with a strong interest in energy.

• Proficient in modern analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, R, Julia, or similar.

• Experience with large datasets and analytical workflows.

• Proven experience applying AI, advanced analytics, data science, or quantitative methods in market analysis, forecasting, or decision support.

• Familiarity with energy system models, including capacity expansion, production cost, dispatch, power system optimization, or similar models.

• Experience with data tools such as SQL, cloud platforms, APIs, Power BI, Python, or equivalent tools.

• Understanding of power markets, generation technologies, and energy policy.

• Exposure to AI, machine learning, or generative AI tools within analytics workflows.

• Experience transitioning analytical workflows from Excel to scalable modeling environments.

• Experience in building or updating analytics capabilities within an enterprise context.

• A strong sense of curiosity, a continuous learning mindset, attention to detail, and the capability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex issues into clear, straightforward messages.

• An advanced degree such as an MBA, master’s degree, or PhD in a relevant field is preferred.

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
