This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and sustain components related to capacity expansion, production cost, dispatch models, as well as frameworks for scenario and sensitivity analysis.
• Convert business and domain inputs into structured, verifiable model logic.
• Create and manage data pipelines for both internal and external datasets.
• Clean, transform, and verify large datasets for modeling purposes.
• Promote data governance practices and standardized inputs for modeling.
• Design analytical tools using Python, R, Julia, or similar programming languages.
• Streamline repetitive forecasting processes through automation.
• Provide reusable code, libraries, and analytics modules.
• Utilize AI tools to extract and process both structured and unstructured data.
• Implement AI-driven methods to summarize market reports and datasets, improving modeling inputs.
• Facilitate experimentation with emerging AI techniques across forecasting processes.
• Conduct forecasting operations and calibrate, validate, and interpret model outputs.
• Detect and address issues related to models, data, and workflows.
• Enhance the performance, scalability, and usability of forecasting models.
• Collaborate with domain experts to grasp assumptions, market logic, and forecasting needs.
• Evaluate market trends and model outputs.
• Create clear insights and decision-support materials for internal stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data science, economics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• 3–5 years of experience in energy analytics, forecasting, power markets, advanced analytics, data science, or a related technical domain, with a strong interest in energy.
• High proficiency in modern analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, R, Julia, or similar.
• Experience in managing large datasets and executing analytical workflows.
• Proven experience in applying AI, advanced analytics, data science, or quantitative methods in market analysis, forecasting, or decision support.
• Familiarity with energy system models, including capacity expansion, production cost, dispatch, power system optimization, or similar models.
• Proficiency with data tools like SQL, cloud platforms, APIs, Power BI, Python, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of power markets, generation technologies, and energy policy.
• Exposure to AI, machine learning, or generative AI tools within analytics workflows.
• Experience in transitioning analytical workflows from Excel to scalable modeling environments.
• History of building or modernizing analytics capabilities in an enterprise setting.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues into clear, straightforward messages.
• An advanced degree such as an MBA, master’s, or PhD in a relevant field is preferred.
• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
