Lead Accountant, US Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the month-end closing process

• Provide daily cash position reports to leadership

• Prepare a 13-week cash forecast

• Review expenses, spending commitments, and payment lists

• Oversee accounts receivable and collections

• Compile the monthly management reporting package and conduct variance analysis

• Establish an approval matrix and standard operating procedures for payments

• Generate reports on Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), and retention

• Develop AI-driven workflows and automations throughout the finance department

• Maintain the tax compliance and filing calendar

• Conduct monthly payroll and headcount analyses

• Document processes and create a scalable finance structure

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with US-based companies

• Proven experience in creating workflows or automations using AI

• Solid understanding of US GAAP, supported by practical accounting decisions

• Experience transitioning books from cash to accrual accounting or rectifying non-GAAP-compliant records

• Comprehensive knowledge of the end-to-end month-end close process

• Proven ability to build a cash forecast from the ground up

• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks

• Capacity to communicate financial concepts in simple terms for non-financial stakeholders

• Experience implementing processes for individuals outside the finance team

• Competence in determining tasks to delegate versus those to manage personally

• Willingness to work during EST or PST hours

• Experience with SaaS revenue models; familiarity with Ramp, Bill.com, Deel, or Stripe is a plus

• CPA certification is an added advantage
