Lead Accountant – Investment Accounting, Reporting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Act as a subject matter expert in investment accounting and reporting.

• Ensure that appropriate controls are established and functioning effectively, while executing internal controls.

• Maintain tri-party reconciliations of investment positions with custodians and asset managers.

• Review and guarantee the timely resolution of outstanding investment payables, receivables, and suspense transactions.

• Collaborate with internal investment and treasury teams.

• Engage with third-party asset managers, custodians, and accounting service providers.

• Prepare account reconciliations.

• Record manual journal entries.

• Generate GAAP and statutory financial statements along with financial disclosures.

• Communicate investment portfolio details to GE Aerospace, NALH senior management, and regulatory bodies.

• Address external and internal audit requests.

• Assist with additional controllership activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

• A minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience.

• Experience in the financial services industry and investments.

• Familiarity with custodian banks and/or treasury operations.

• Proficient in financial systems and MS Office applications.

• Strong skills in identifying and resolving problems.

• Experience in the insurance industry.

• Background in public accounting.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, where applicable.
