Lead 3D Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and develop 3D characters, environments, and objects for brand initiatives, product highlights, and cultural engagements.

• Convert 2D concepts and mood boards into fully developed 3D representations.

• Take ownership of render quality, including aspects such as lighting, materials, and composition, from initial drafts to final outputs.

• Incorporate AI image generation processes, such as Weavy, into the 3D workflow.

• Explore real-time rendering and new tools to minimize the gap between concept and completed asset.

• Introduce innovative techniques to the team.

• Oversee the briefing, review, and delivery processes for 3D work within the team.

• Collaborate with Art Directors to ensure that 3D projects align with the overall creative vision.

• Maintain organized and reusable asset libraries, rigs, and templates.

• Manage multiple projects across brand, social media, and campaign timelines.

• Select between hand-crafted, procedural, and AI-assisted workflows to meet deadlines without compromising quality.

• Lead the 3D discipline through skill and constructive feedback.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in 3D design, showcasing a portfolio that demonstrates versatility in character, environment, and object design.

• Proficient in Blender (or equivalent software such as Cinema 4D or Maya) alongside a rendering engine like Octane or Redshift.

• Comfortable with integrating AI tools into a creative process — this is essential to our workflow.

• Fluency in sports, streetwear, or hip-hop culture, reflected in your work as well as your personal interests.

• Must have authorization to work for any employer in the U.S.; PrizePicks cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa.

• Experience with real-time engines (Unreal, Unity) or procedural tools (Houdini) is a plus.

• Experience in managing, mentoring, or directly leading other 3D or design professionals is an added advantage.

• A background in motion or animation in addition to 3D design is a bonus.
