This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Manage a varied caseload in Property and Regeneration

• Provide prompt, practical, and solution-focused legal guidance

• Prepare, assess, and negotiate documentation related to property transactions

• Assist with projects in regeneration, development, and strategic property

• Offer advice on Local Government Property Law and associated legislation

• Participate in meetings to deliver legal counsel to officers, managers, and elected officials

• Guide and oversee junior fee earners as required

• Work collaboratively with Legal Support Officers to advance transactions efficiently

• Keep updated on changes in Property and Regeneration Law

• Take part in cross-authority working groups and initiatives

• Ensure compliance with Lexcel standards and MKLS values

• Effectively utilize case management systems such as Iken and other IT tools

• Provide legal advice and support to Maidstone Borough Council, Swale Borough Council, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, and other MKLS clients


⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified as a Solicitor, Barrister, Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX), or have equivalent experience

• Experience in legal practice focused on Property and Regeneration Law

• Demonstrated expertise in advising clients on Property Law issues

• Strong knowledge of Property and Regeneration Law and its applications

• Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal

• Experience providing advice to senior officers, managers, and elected officials

• Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to handle competing priorities

• Proficient IT skills and familiarity with legal case management systems like Iken

• Capability to meet time recording and performance objectives

• Full UK Driving Licence

• Readiness to attend meetings across partner authority locations as necessary

• Background in Local Government legal affairs

• Experience in a Lexcel-accredited legal environment

• Familiarity with supervising junior legal personnel

• Understanding of local government decision-making and democratic processes
