Large Loss Property Field Claims Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Examine and manage intricate property claims.

• Assess liability, gather information, review coverages, coordinate appraisals, and resolve claims.

• Investigate the origin and cause of high-exposure claims by engaging with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, and other relevant parties.

• Participate in High Damage Reviews to tackle coverage concerns and exposure.

• Manage both 1st party and 3rd party claims across various policy types and endorsements.

• Perform on-site evaluations, assess damages, and negotiate claims.

• Address customer inquiries, make determinations, and conclude files.

• Interpret policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages.

• Provide information regarding the claims process and status to all involved parties.

• Make independent decisions and identify when assistance is necessary.

• Mentor junior adjusters and act as a subject matter expert.

• Primarily work in the field, dedicating 80% of time (4+ days per week) to direct customer interaction.

• Occasionally visit an office for team meetings, training sessions, and cultural events.

• Report to a Large Loss Senior Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in handling field property personal lines claims is required.

• Advanced proficiency in Xactimate is necessary.

• Proven ability to manage 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across various operating territories.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering customer-driven solutions, support, or service.

• Proven capability to effectively and efficiently manage complex claims.

• Extensive understanding of policies and endorsements coverages.

• Successfully applied knowledge of each phase of the claims handling process.

• A valid driver's license is required, along with an acceptable driving record.

• Must obtain state-specific property casualty claims licensing as needed.

• Ability to perform field work, including navigating ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and confined spaces.

• Capability to adjust or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds in all directions.

• Willing to travel up to 10%, with potential catastrophe travel up to 75% as applicable.

• Preferably located in Maryland or Pennsylvania.

• Successful completion of background checks and signing a non-disclosure agreement are required as contingencies for the offer.
