This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +1 more state.
• Conduct virtual and in-person investigations at the homes of policyholders.
• Evaluate property damage, establish liability, assess losses, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims management software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess damage and create estimates in a digital environment.
• Analyze and report potential subrogation opportunities.
• Report incidents of theft, fraud, or arson to relevant state and industry authorities.
• Execute tasks independently with a direct influence on management decisions.
• Represent the company professionally in public engagements.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other relevant parties.
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders.
• Advocate for safety and adhere to company safety and ergonomic guidelines.
• Travel to and from policyholders' residences throughout Vicksburg, Mississippi, and eastern Louisiana.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
• High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Exceptional customer service skills, preferably acquired in a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable and preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Comfortable using smartphones and related applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• Outgoing demeanor with the ability to engage comfortably with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and fraud investigators.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be bondable.
• Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check.
• Previous experience in property damage claims is preferred; the company is open to training the right candidate.
• Ability and willingness to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times a day.
• Capability to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training exams.
• Physical abilities required include bending, kneeling, pulling, pushing, sorting, carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing, reaching, standing, walking, seeing, and data entry.
• Proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing is required.
• Willingness to travel away from home for CAT deployments, typically lasting 23 days; expected to commit to 1–3 CAT deployments annually.
