Landowner Outreach Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Oversee the execution of TNC’s pilot initiative aimed at forest landowners in western Maryland.

• Establish and nurture relationships with private forest landowners.

• Enhance involvement in the conservation program.

• Assist TNC in understanding the factors that encourage landowners to engage with conservation entities.

• Perform outreach through phone communications, face-to-face meetings, community gatherings, referrals, and partner networks.

• Enroll landowners into the program.

• Coordinate the delivery of program benefits.

• Collect insights regarding landowner motivations, obstacles to participation, and opportunities for enhancing program design and execution.

• Test outreach strategies and identify effective engagement options.

• Guide participants throughout the enrollment process.

• Support decisions regarding future investments and the expansion of the pilot program.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience in natural resource management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proven experience in relationship-building, collaborating closely with a diverse range of partners, including media, government officials, and internal scientists.

• Ability to independently manage tasks with respect to timelines.

• Proficient in communicating through written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.

• Familiarity with common software applications such as Word, Excel, and web browsers.

• Experience in training others.

• Possession of a valid driver's license.

• Adherence to TNC’s Auto Safety Program.

• Completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may involve a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.

• Successful completion of The Nature Conservancy's background screening process.
