This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +8 more states.
• Work in partnership with employees from the EQT Land Department across Division Order, Land Administration, Title, Owner Relations, Business Development, and Land Acquisitions.
• Harmonize data models, pipelines, governance, and special initiatives, including the ideation and execution of process improvements.
• Collaborate with internal BI/IT teams to comprehend and implement changes in tables and code.
• Coordinate with the STAQ Delivery team to prioritize and facilitate updates to Salesforce, Databricks, and AI pipeline environments.
• Transform Claude Enterprise and associated AI capabilities into quantifiable Land outcomes and increased adoption.
• Establish a governed path from intake to delivery for AI use cases across various business functions.
• Convert business opportunities into feasible AI designs in collaboration with internal IT and Land subject-matter experts.
• Manage intricate analytics projects that necessitate advanced scripting and analytical techniques.
• Design, construct, and sustain analytical solutions utilizing SQL.
• Contribute throughout the phases of discovery, design, development, validation, and refinement.
• Perform code reviews to ensure quality, performance, maintainability, and adherence to standards.
• Assist the Land Department with sophisticated analytical requirements that extend beyond conventional BI reporting.
• Employ advanced statistical and analytical methodologies to tackle complex business challenges.
• Convey insights, trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay informed about emerging analytics technologies and evaluate their relevance.
• Produce daily and weekly reports, charts, and visualizations for stakeholders and management.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Data Science, Information Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Over 3 years of coding experience.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for the implementation and optimization of analytical logic.
• Working knowledge of R for statistical and analytical applications.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering complex analytics solutions within a BI or enterprise setting.
• Strong foundation in software development best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation.
• Experience in defining, enforcing, and reviewing shared coding standards.
• Capability to refactor and enhance codebases created by multiple contributors.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication abilities.
• Experience in mentoring peers and influencing technical direction without direct authority.
• Preferred: familiarity with Databricks and its ecosystem, including Lakehouse architecture, PySpark, Databricks SQL, notebooks, workflows/jobs, querying, and Unity Catalog.
• Preferred: knowledge of applied statistical learning and advanced analytics techniques.
• Preferred: experience working with Oil and Gas Land Departments.
• Preferred: exposure to cloud-based analytics platforms and modern data ecosystems.
• Preferred: experience in developing shared analytics libraries utilized across teams.
• Preferred: experience supporting analytics related to strategic or executive-level decision-making.
• Preferred: familiarity with CRM platforms, especially Salesforce.
