This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Provide counsel and representation for employers and/or employees in matters related to employment law.
β’ Manage disputes concerning wages and hours, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, workplace accommodations, employment contracts, and other employment law issues in California.
β’ Offer guidance on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
β’ Represent clients in various legal proceedings including litigation, administrative actions, mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations for settlements.
β’ Draft and evaluate employment agreements, separation agreements, employee handbooks, policies, and other related documents.
β’ Conduct legal research and produce memoranda, pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and other documents pertinent to litigation.
β’ Oversee depositions, hearings, settlement conferences, and prepare for trials.
β’ Investigate workplace grievances related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage infractions, and wrongful termination.
β’ Advise clients on matters involving hiring, termination, leave policies, accommodations, disciplinary actions, workplace regulations, and employee relations.
β’ Stay updated on changes in California and federal employment law and provide compliance advice to clients.
β’ Maintain communication with clients, opposing legal counsel, courts, agencies, and other relevant parties.
β’ Manage caseloads, adhere to deadlines, oversee budgets, and maintain client relationships.
β’ Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
β’ Current California State Bar license in good standing.
β’ Experience in practicing employment law, ideally within California.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of California employment laws, including those governing wage and hour issues, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, leave, and wrongful termination.
β’ Exceptional skills in legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy.
β’ Strong organizational skills and abilities in case management.
β’ Capability to independently manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
β’ Fully remote work arrangement.
β’ 3β6 month contract position.
