This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee and curate a detailed specialty digital and physical library collection concentrating on minority health topics.
• Perform intricate literature searches utilizing online databases, library catalogs, federal resources, academic repositories, and public health information systems.
• Gather and distribute health statistics from federal, state, local, and private data sources.
• Offer tailored research support and information summaries.
• Conduct literature reviews and compile summaries that highlight key themes, findings, trends, and evidence.
• Identify authoritative sources, subject matter experts, and pertinent research institutions.
• Assist users in finding funding opportunities, health data, and minority health research resources.
• Maintain automated systems for managing inquiries, tracking requests, and documenting responses.
• Ensure the security of library data by maintaining password-protected and encrypted systems.
• Aid in the integration of library resources into OMH knowledge management systems.
• Manage metadata, indexing, and the organization of digital assets.
• Guarantee the ongoing functionality and accessibility of digital library resources.
• Enhance the usability and discoverability of online information resources.
• Acquire necessary subscriptions, licenses, journals, databases, and electronic resources to support OMH research and library operations.
• Assist with webinars, training sessions, and outreach activities that promote Knowledge Center resources and services.
• Compile monthly, annual, and ad hoc reports concerning library usage, inquiries, research requests, and collection activities.
• Manage library subscriptions and vendor partnerships.
• Support records management and ensure compliance with copyright regulations.
• Contribute to outreach and technical assistance initiatives.
• Professional experience in library or information management.
• Background in supporting public health, healthcare, academic, research, or government organizations.
• Proven experience in conducting literature reviews and providing research support services.
• Experience in managing digital collections and electronic resources.
• Competence in performing bibliographic control of digital resources.
• Master's degree in Library Science, Library and Information Science, Information Studies, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Ability to obtain a valid U.S. Government PUBLIC TRUST security clearance.
