This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +4 more states.
• Take ownership of, enhance, and fortify Shinesty's key retail partnerships.
• Manage both day-to-day and strategic relationships with assigned wholesale accounts.
• Develop annual and seasonal account strategies that encompass revenue, product assortment, store placements, departments, and promotional activities.
• Increase revenue through reorders, broadened assortments, new product categories, and deeper market penetration.
• Identify underperforming stores, products, and initiatives, and create actionable plans for improvement.
• Convert strong sell-through data into expansion recommendations for buyers and senior merchants.
• Secure advance pre-books from major accounts ahead of production timelines.
• Cultivate strong relationships with buyers, merchants, planners, and allocators.
• Gain insights into each retailer's customer base, assortment strategy, calendar, and decision-making processes.
• Lead regular business reviews, line reviews, and discussions on sell-through performance.
• Present performance metrics and opportunities to assist buyers in advocating for Shinesty internally.
• Utilize account-, SKU-, and door-level data to propose products, quantities, pricing, and promotional strategies.
• Collaborate with design, product, and merchandising teams on retailer-specific assortments, ensuring wholesale representation in internal planning.
• Analyze sales metrics, margins, inventory levels, turnover rates, weeks of supply, and units per door weekly.
• Identify assortment gaps that could facilitate wholesale growth.
• Track sell-through rates, inventory levels, and ordering patterns to assess replenishment needs.
• Create replenishment forecasts and reorder suggestions in partnership with planning and supply chain teams.
• Monitor fill rates, in-stock levels, and lead times, flagging any delivery risks.
• Maintain precise forecasts by retailer, category, and season; keep account plans, pipelines, and upcoming actions updated in the CRM.
• Engage in critical pitches and expansion opportunities as part of a coordinated two-person team.
• 5–10 years of experience in retail merchandising, buying, or wholesale account management.
• Confidence in selling to retail buyers and effectively advocating for your needs.
• Proven track record of managing a category, a significant retailer relationship, or a substantial portion of a retail business.
• Proficiency in retail mathematics, including sales, margins, inventory levels, turnover, weeks of supply, markdowns, and units per door weekly.
• Demonstrated ability to translate analysis into actionable commercial recommendations and present these to buyers or senior retail stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills; capable of influencing without formal authority.
• A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and follow-through; comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment lacking a large corporate support structure.
• Willingness to travel for retailer meetings, line reviews, store visits, and trade shows.
• Training as a buyer, merchant, or merchandise manager from a respected retail development program is particularly relevant.
• Category expertise in men’s apparel, underwear, socks, accessories, outdoor gear, gifting, or seasonal items is advantageous.
• Familiarity with retailers such as Tractor Supply, Scheels, Boot Barn, Murdoch's, Dick’s, Bass Pro, or similar is a plus.
• Capability to represent a bold, irreverent consumer brand.
• Work from home (please note that travel is anticipated, with extensive travel at times).
• 2027 On Target Earnings: $100k-$140k (this includes a combination of base salary and performance-based bonuses/commissions).
