This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.
• Oversee the daily account management tasks for one or more important clients.
• Act as the main contact for significant clients, comprehend their requirements, and ensure their satisfaction.
• Market Smiths Detection products, services, and industry collaborations through solution-focused selling.
• Create and execute strategies for client retention and account growth.
• Perform needs assessments and deliver customized solutions.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for cross-selling and upselling.
• Align account strategies with overall sales objectives in partnership with the sales team.
• Contribute insights on pricing, proposals, and negotiations.
• Proactively address client issues.
• Develop and implement strategic account plans with both short- and long-term growth targets.
• Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape.
• Manage contract negotiations and renewals.
• Establish and track KPIs, reporting account progress to internal stakeholders.
• Utilize CRM systems across sales, marketing, customer service, and technical support.
• Secure new business orders with existing clients to meet or surpass assigned sales quotas.
• Provide financial updates, analyses, reports, and recommendations for enhancing sales processes.
• Coordinate the sales process from estimating to order management and product delivery.
• Report directly to the Director of Federal Sales.
• Perform additional duties as necessary.
• A Bachelor's Degree is required.
• A major in Business, Sales, Finance, or a technical field is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience and proven success in sales account management within a structured B2B sales environment or technical product support/management, focusing on customer interaction and communication.
• Experience selling to the Federal government is highly preferred.
• A self-driven and proactive approach to managing key accounts.
• Capability to establish and maintain professional relationships with customers and prospects.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to present information effectively in front of a large audience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capacity to identify and articulate how products and technologies can address customer needs.
• Competency in reading, writing, and interpreting general business publications, professional journals, or government regulations.
• Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Skill in writing reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and standard operating procedures.
• Proficient in MS Office Programs.
• United States Citizenship is required.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work at internal offices, customer/prospect locations, or trade shows.
