Junior Software Engineer – Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and uphold microservices related to payments utilizing Java, Spring Boot, Gradle, and Kubernetes.

• Engage with both relational and NoSQL databases on the backend.

• Create frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and Material UI.

• Implement Clean Code principles in development.

• Oversee technical systems through tracking, alerts, and monitoring.

• Investigate and resolve issues related to payment instructions, settlements, and webhook calls.

• Provide technical support to users and Customer Support teams.

• Develop and sustain automated tests at various testing levels.

• Contribute to the management of platform services on Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS.

• Collaborate with experienced colleagues, the team, and DevOps.

• Initial professional experience in software development is required.

• Strong knowledge of Java is essential.

• A keen interest in digital payment and financial processes.

• Enthusiasm for clean system architectures.

• A desire to learn about Domain-Driven Design, microservices, and hexagonal architecture; practical experience is advantageous.

• A commitment to continuous learning and personal development.

• Willingness to explore new AI-assisted methodologies and utilize AI tools effectively.

• Proficiency in German at a minimum B2 level.

• Good command of the English language.
