Junior Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Lead the implementation of projects within customer networks.

• Ensure that project scope, schedules, deliverables, quality objectives, and service margin targets are met.

• Analyze project proposals to assess timelines, funding constraints, and execution strategies.

• Identify, schedule, and monitor deliverables, milestones, tasks, and project communications.

• Document and relay project status, risks, challenges, and solutions to management.

• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate with Customer Operations, Sales, Bid Management, Service Delivery, Finance, and other stakeholders to meet project and financial goals.

• Work under the supervision of a Ciena Senior Project Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

• Up to 12 months of relevant project management experience is strongly preferred.

• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to assess complex problems and develop solutions.

• Ability to make informed judgments and decisions among various alternatives.

• Capable of planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities effectively.

• Ability to collaborate within a matrix organization that involves multiple stakeholders.

• Proficient in Microsoft Project and Salesforce project management tools.

• PRINCE2 or PMP certification is preferred.

• Experience in influencing and collaborating across various teams within a matrix organization.

• Knowledge of applying technology, services, and business concepts in a project setting.

• Strong business judgment applied to complex business challenges.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Customer-centric mindset with skills in relationship building, agility, business acumen, and influencing others.
