Junior Electrical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Assist in conducting diagnostic tests on power transformers, which include DGA, power factor, turns ratio, insulation resistance, and excitation assessments.

• Aid in the analysis of test results and the preparation of technical reports, repair scopes, and engineering documentation.

• Provide on-site assistance during energization, commissioning, and acceptance testing processes.

• Acquire knowledge of and adhere to IEEE C57 standards, NETA specifications, and OSHA safety regulations under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Collaborate with Senior Engineers on client-facing technical communications and coordinate activities on-site.

• Ensure precise maintenance of field records, test data logs, and equipment documentation.

• Travel nationally to client locations to support NTS field engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or a closely related discipline.

• 0–3 years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related area — relevant internship, co-op, or academic project experience in utility or transformer work is advantageous.

• Basic understanding of transformer theory, fundamentals of power systems, or principles of electrical testing.

• EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification either obtained or currently in progress is preferred.

• Openness to national travel (approximately 30–40%).

• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a desire to learn in a practical field setting.

• A valid driver's license.

• Capacity to work safely around energized electrical equipment and in outdoor field environments.
