Junior Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the creation and maintenance of ETL pipelines utilizing Python and PySpark.

• Aid in the development of workflows leveraging AWS Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions.

• Engage with cloud data storage solutions such as S3, Redshift, RDS, and Oracle.

• Write SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reporting purposes.

• Contribute to the implementation of monitoring, logging, and error handling for data pipelines.

• Facilitate the ingestion and processing of data from APIs and JSON payloads.

• Collaborate effectively with software engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders.

• Participate in code management, technical documentation, and deployment assistance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hold a degree for the visa application process.

• Possess 0 to 4 years of experience in software development or data engineering within relevant cloud platforms.

• Have a solid understanding of Python and SQL.

• Demonstrate a strong grasp of AWS services, particularly S3, SNS/SQS, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, and Step Functions.

• Exhibit a strong understanding of ETL concepts and the fundamentals of data processing.

• Be familiar with GitLab, Terraform, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from development to production.

• Have familiarity with PySpark, AWS managed services, data engineering best practices, and code optimization.

• Possess advanced proficiency in oral English.

• Have advanced proficiency in Spanish.

• Exhibit good analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Internship, project, or academic experience in cloud computing, analytics, or data engineering is preferred.

• Familiarity with cloud-native foundations or AI coding assistants is a plus.
