This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Aid in the creation and upkeep of data pipelines under the mentorship of senior engineers.
• Develop, test, and refine SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Assist in batch data ingestion and fundamental ETL/ELT processes using Python.
• Conduct basic data quality assessments and identify discrepancies.
• Acquire knowledge and work within the Snowflake/Databricks cloud data warehouse with guidance.
• Document data flows, elementary technical specifications, and testing scenarios.
• Take part in code reviews and apply feedback to enhance code quality.
• Work collaboratively with analytics and business teams to comprehend data requirements.
• Embrace new tools, programming languages, and industry best practices.
• Clearly communicate progress and challenges to the team.
• For freshers, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or a related discipline.
• For freshers, a fundamental understanding of SQL, including basic SELECT, JOIN, and aggregation queries.
• For freshers, introductory knowledge of Python programming.
• For freshers, a conceptual understanding of data warehousing principles, including tables, schemas, and ETL.
• For freshers, comprehension of relational databases and data structures.
• For freshers, a strong eagerness to learn, along with analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• For freshers, effective verbal and written communication skills.
• For candidates with 1–2 years of experience, 1–2 years of practical experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a comparable role.
• Proficient in SQL, including joins, aggregations, and basic performance tuning.
• Practical experience with Python; familiarity with PySpark is advantageous.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse or lakehouse platform such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Basic familiarity with ETL/data pipeline tools such as Airflow, dbt, or Fivetran is a plus.
• Knowledge of version control using Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
• Basic understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work in an agile team setting.
• Academic or internship project experience related to data pipelines or analytics is a plus.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of Kafka or NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is a plus.
• Basic understanding of Docker or containerization concepts is a plus.
