Junior Azure IaC Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for the help desk, addressing advanced technical issues that Tier 1 and Tier 2 are unable to resolve.

• Evaluate and troubleshoot intricate problems associated with the digital evidence application, encompassing workflows, data ingestion, media playback, integrations, and user permissions.

• Collaborate with software development, QA, and infrastructure teams to investigate defects, replicate issues, and determine root causes.

• Examine application logs, system events, and diagnostic data to resolve errors and performance irregularities.

• Provide troubleshooting notes, issue documentation, and resolution procedures for internal knowledge bases.

• Assist with platform updates, release rollouts, and configuration modifications; help in validating functionality following deployments.

• Suggest enhancements to help desk processes, user documentation, and troubleshooting manuals.

• Support the onboarding and training of help desk staff on advanced features and complex issue areas.

• Work in conjunction with cybersecurity and compliance teams on digital evidence management and user access controls.

• Elevate critical or systemic issues and communicate with leadership and affected users.

• Maintain expertise in systems to support evolving capabilities, integrations, and enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.

• Practical experience with cloud technologies; personal projects utilizing Azure may be acceptable.

• Public Trust clearance.

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• Basic understanding of Azure services, including VMs, Storage, Networking, RBAC, and Azure AD.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) or a strong interest in learning them.

• Experience with version control tools such as Git.

• Foundational scripting skills in PowerShell or Python.

• Strong motivation to learn cloud engineering, automation, and DevOps practices.

• Effective problem-solving abilities and capability to follow technical instructions.

• Azure certifications (AZ-900, AZ-104) or progress toward obtaining them.

• Experience with CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).

• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, AKS) is advantageous.

• Involvement in coursework, labs, or personal projects related to cloud infrastructure or automation.
