This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Design, manage, and resolve issues in Kubernetes clusters and Helm-packaged applications in a production environment.
• Take ownership of the AWS environment state from start to finish, covering provisioning, configuration, drift detection, cost management, and security posture.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform with version control.
• Develop and sustain GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage ArgoCD for continuous deployment based on GitOps principles.
• Create and update Python tools and automation scripts for infrastructure and operational processes.
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for the team and the wider program regarding infrastructure, DevOps, and security inquiries.
• Integrate security practices throughout the development and delivery lifecycle, including secrets management, least-privilege IAM policies, vulnerability scanning, policy-as-code, and compliance controls.
• Provide guidance on incorporating LLM/AI-based tools and workflows into engineering methodologies.
• Mentor team members on best practices related to infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
• Ensure the health, security, and ongoing management of the AWS cloud environment.
• Function as the main technical contact for infrastructure, automation, and secure software delivery matters.
• Over 7 years of experience in DevOps/DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure, or SRE roles.
• Extensive hands-on expertise with AWS, particularly in compute, networking, IAM, and storage at a production scale.
• Strong skills with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm in a production setting.
• Proficient in Python for automation and development tooling.
• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical experience with ArgoCD or similar GitOps tools.
• Familiarity with LLM/AI concepts, including model deployment, prompting, RAG, and trade-offs between cost and latency.
• Capability to serve as the senior technical resource for a small team.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• Occasional travel of up to 10% may be necessary.
• Desired certifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect/DevOps Engineer, CKA/CKAD, or HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
• Previous experience with federal or government cloud initiatives is preferred.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks like NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP is advantageous.
• Experience with integrating LLM-based tools into CI/CD or engineering processes is a plus.
