Junior Acquisition Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare and analyze acquisition planning documents, which include draft Statements of Work (SOWs), Performance Work Statements (PWSs), Statements of Objectives (SOOs), and Independent Government Estimates (IGEs).

• Assist in the development, distribution, and tracking of Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFP).

• Provide administrative support for source selection, including proposal log-in, distribution, and documentation for evaluations.

• Ensure contract file documentation is maintained in compliance with agency and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) recordkeeping standards.

• Monitor contract modifications, review invoices, and assist in the preparation of closeout documentation under the guidance of senior specialists.

• Facilitate audit-readiness efforts, which encompass file compliance checks and tracking corrective actions.

• Attend and document acquisition planning and status meetings as required.

• Support the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), Interior Business Center (IBC), Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD) Mission Support Services contract.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree along with 0-2 years of relevant experience in acquisition, contracts, or program support, or 4 years of directly relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust determination.

• U.S. citizenship is required to fulfill the obligations of this federal contract.

• Understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle, from pre-award to closeout.

• Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

• Excellent written communication and document formatting abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Previous experience in an internship, apprenticeship, or entry-level position related to federal contracting or acquisition support is preferred.

• Familiarity with civilian agency acquisition systems and recordkeeping practices is a plus.

• Completion of the Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) or relevant coursework towards acquisition certification is preferred.
