Java Software Developer – Specialist I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and implement software solutions for intricate challenges using Java, ensuring alignment with the overall product architecture and maintaining ecosystem integrity.

• Conduct evolutionary and corrective maintenance on existing legacy systems.

• Perform automated testing, including unit tests, test-driven development (TDD), and behavior-driven development (BDD).

• Guarantee code quality through participation in code review processes.

• Set up, create, and oversee monitoring systems and alerts.

• Take responsibility for failures within the team's scope, propose stability enhancements based on operational insights, and assist in creating post-mortems.

• Make realistic commitments and deliver value in an incremental manner.

• Address blockers and delays proactively before they require escalation.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams through clear, concise, and audience-focused communication.

• Support colleagues in overcoming challenges and completing their tasks.

• Manage your Individual Development Plan (IDP), actively seeking and applying feedback.

• Share expertise and assist in the growth of junior software developers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong, proven experience working with Java.

• In-depth understanding of creating and utilizing REST APIs and microservices.

• Practical experience with event-driven architecture and systems integration.

• Advanced debugging capabilities and experience in analyzing code performance and SQL queries.

• Solid knowledge of version control (Git) and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes.

• Experience in high-volume environments and the application of security best practices in daily tasks.

• Ability to work with general direction and a high degree of autonomy, along with exceptional technical communication and argumentation skills.

• Strong alignment with agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.

• Preferred: experience in Python and/or Node.js development.

• Preferred: familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools like New Relic and Grafana.

• Preferred: knowledge of messaging systems (e.g., Kafka) and integrations through the Apigee platform.

• Preferred: experience with serverless architectures and continuous deployment tools, particularly Azure DevOps.

• Preferred: knowledge of cloud infrastructure environments (AWS or Azure).

• Preferred: experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes).
