Java Developer – Senior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, enhance, and sustain applications utilizing Java and Spring Boot

• Create and manage microservices-based architectures

• Develop, improve, and integrate APIs and services

• Build and maintain applications using Node.js when required

• Implement solutions using Kafka and Kafka Streams for event processing and integration

• Collaborate with relational databases, particularly SQL Server

• Develop and operate applications in Docker and Kubernetes environments

• Work within Kubernetes environments, including AKS, EKS, GKE, and OpenShift

• Engage in the implementation and advancement of CI/CD pipelines

• Facilitate automated deployment and continuous integration workflows

• Utilize Jenkins, GitLab, SonarQube, and Nexus throughout the software development lifecycle

• Create unit tests and apply TDD and BDD methodologies

• Ensure code quality, readability, security, and maintainability standards are met

• Identify and address technical issues, enhancing application stability and performance

• Investigate and resolve production incidents and challenges

• Operate within public and private cloud environments

• Participate in technical decision-making and aid in the evolution of solution architecture

• Collaborate with teams across development, infrastructure, architecture, QA, and product

• Engage in Scrum practices and ceremonies

• Suggest technical and process enhancements, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and automation

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline

• 6 or more years of experience in Software Engineering

• Proficient experience with Java and/or other JVM-based programming languages

• Familiarity with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and Node.js

• Understanding of containerization with Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience with Kubernetes environments, including AKS, EKS, GKE, OpenShift, or standard Kubernetes

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as Nexus, SonarQube, GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub, and StarTeam

• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and automated deployment processes (CD)

• Understanding of unit testing, TDD, and BDD methodologies

• Experience in agile methodologies, particularly Scrum

• Familiarity with private and public cloud environments

• Experience with Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Knowledge of coding best practices and code quality principles
